NRC was a fantastic athlete which for a couple of seasons made up for being a very average footballer. Wasn't a sustainable situation though.

Always though Mullins was a bit underated, was a really decent player for us.

JonWHUFC 1:59 - I was right behind that goal and saw the fingertip save, that and Marlons dead leg swipe at the ball when he could have scored, anyway we all know what happened.

Back in May 2007, an Arsenal mate bet me that NRC would have 20 England caps within three years. I don't think he even made a squad.

He was an effective player for us, but never had the ability to be anything more. Doesn't matter how much you run around if you can't pass the ball 5 yards,

Jon

being a West Ham fan I tend to remember what West Ham did more than banging on about how good you think the scouse scum were. You'd do well to do the same mate.

Re: Nigel Reo-Coker shows remorse over his time at West Ham.
Does anyone else remember the Cup Final for anything other than the Gerrard goal. I remember NRC getting on the end of a cross and he mistimed his header and the ball looped off his shoulder and hit the underside of the bar and post and did not go in. When I saw a replay Reina had got a finger tip to it. He never got the credit he deserved as Gerrard's goal saved them but Reina's save was equally as important.

I think people are missing the point of why he failed - it wasn't so much the attitude more that the geezer simply cannot pass
a ball. He'd win the ball and run fifty yard then just give it away. Pointless

Re: Nigel Reo-Coker shows remorse over his time at West Ham.
I remember all these stories and always thought he wasted his chance.
One of my close friends at Adidas looked after NRC while he was at WHU and said he was one of the nicest, down to earth blokes he'd met and he'd always help out if he could.
In fact a couple of tickets i sourced for WHO'ers for the F.A cup final were from NRC. he also gave my mate a signed shirt by the whole F.A cup team, which i have framed.

Absolutely- work ethic, hunger, togetherness. They were a really good group of young players, I felt.

Reo -Coker in particular looked like a rough round the edges all action player who potentially had a superb career at his feet as a box to box midfielder.

Whether it was the Argies coming in, or those players getting all cliquey and self important I guess we won't know, but none of them really did anything after leaving West Ham.

This would have meant more if he was being interviewed by Sky or a paper, but he's hardly going to say anything cunty in an interview with West Ham TV is he?

I remember him scoring the goal against Man U and putting his finger to his lips when he was getting stick. Sheringham tried to pull his hand down but he was having none of it! He was good for a season but its a shame how it ended.

I honestly thought he'd be England captain one day. His attitude (that one season) was fantastic, and his engine was incredible. He had some issues (like passing to a bloke in the same shirt), but his break-up play and drives forward were great.

Shame for all involved that his attitude took over.

He really did look like he was going to be a top player, that first season we got back in the Premier League he was excellent but as others said he thought he'd made it and his career never really lived up to the early promise.

His work ethic in the 05-06 season was superb... him Mullins, Ethrington, Yossi, Bubba Gum ran their back sides off that season... it was that work ethic that made it a successful season and got us to the FA Cup final... the next season they went all Joey 'nana's and thought they had done it all... he was a shadow of the player he was from the previous season... and looks like he's been on that shit slippy spiral ever since

Its a short career, make the right choices your set for life and immortalized with the fabric of a club.
Make the wrong choices and live with the regrets...

I thought he had talent but as we know with Mr Morrison it counts for nothing if you have a bad attitude.

Hes only 32 and without a clib, says it all

Amazing fall from grace after leaving us. He thought he should be moving up. All he did was move down. 32 and without a club... wouldn't expect that.

'A firm favourite with Hammers fans'!

Really?

The ONLY ex-player I have ever booed. Not Lampard, Ince, Payet, MacDougall or anyone else.

Fuck him.
